How does Knoxville Senior Advisor choose its sources?
We use primary sources only: Tennessee statutes and rule chapters, Health Facilities Commission reports and listings, TennCare and Department of Disability and Aging pages, CMS data, VA rate tables, Census estimates and CareScout's published survey.
We do not copy facility marketing or aggregator listings, and we never visit individual facility websites to build directory pages.
How are facility pages built?
Each facility page is assembled from the state's bed report and facility listing, the Facility Action and Abuse Reports, and, for nursing homes, CMS's Provider Information file; every page shows its source and data date.
We do not rate facilities. The only ratings shown are CMS's star ratings, labelled as CMS's. Where data is missing, the page says so rather than filling the gap.
How often is the information updated?
Rules, program limits and prices were last verified in October 2026; the facility directory is rebuilt from state and CMS data each time the site is built, and cost and rule pages carry a “Last verified” date.
The Health Facilities Commission publishes bed reports quarterly; CMS updates Care Compare monthly.
How do we handle corrections?
If a fact is wrong or out of date, we correct it and update the verification date; facilities that believe their state record is wrong should contact the Health Facilities Commission, because we reproduce the state's data as published.
Send corrections to advisors@knoxvillesenioradvisor.com.
What does the site do when official data is missing?
It says so: Tennessee publishes no memory care price median and no ACLF survey reports in bulk, and CareScout publishes no Knoxville-only median, so pages state those gaps instead of estimating figures.
Monthly, daily and hourly cost figures are our arithmetic from published annual medians, and each table says how it was calculated. Straight-line distances use Census ZIP-code centers and are labelled as approximate.
How are guides and blog posts written?
Guides are written by the site's own team for families in the seven counties, checked against the primary sources cited in each one, and dated; figures that depend on the directory are computed from the same state data the directory uses.
We do not accept payment to publish or change an article, and partner communities do not review content before it is published.
Does Knoxville Senior Advisor use AI or automated writing?
Directory pages are generated automatically from state and federal data so every record is presented the same way, and the explanatory guides are written and checked by the site team against the cited sources before publication.
Automated assembly is limited to reproducing official fields and computing comparisons such as medians and distances. No facility page contains wording supplied by the facility, and no page invents a rating, a price or an inspection result.
